FAQ
CPC, CPM & CPA calculator FAQ
What is CPC?
CPC (cost per click) is the amount you pay, on average, for each click on your ad. CPC = ad spend ÷ clicks. If you spend $500 and get 250 clicks, your CPC is $2.
What is CPM?
CPM (cost per mille, or cost per 1,000 impressions) is what you pay for every 1,000 times your ad is shown. CPM = (ad spend ÷ impressions) × 1,000. If you spend $1,000 for 200,000 impressions, your CPM is $5.
What is CPA?
CPA (cost per acquisition) is the average cost to generate one conversion — a sale, sign-up, or lead. CPA = ad spend ÷ conversions. If you spend $1,000 and get 50 conversions, your CPA is $20.
What is the difference between CPC, CPM, and CPA?
CPC and CPM measure cost per interaction (a click or an impression), while CPA measures cost per outcome (a completed conversion). CPC and CPM are useful for judging traffic and reach efficiency; CPA ties spend directly to results like sales or leads.
What is a good CPC, CPM, or CPA?
There's no universal benchmark — good CPC, CPM, and CPA vary widely by platform, industry, audience, and competition. Compare your numbers against your own historical performance and your target cost per outcome to judge efficiency.
